The Ministry of Youth Development - Te Manatū Whakahiato Taiohi - encourages and supports young people, aged between 12 and 24 years old, to develop and use knowledge, skills and experiences to participate confidently in their communities.
The Awards recognise and celebrate young New Zealanders who have achieved outstanding results, as well as those who have made a significant contribution towards supporting young people in their communities. The recipients have been announced by the Minister for Youth Nikki Kaye and were recognised at a ceremony which took place at Parliament on 11 April.
